You decide how much you want to charge per week. The less you charge, the more likely you are to sell advertising space. Generally, $10-$200 per week is the going rate depending on how many unique visitors your site has and how many of them click ads.
We encourage you to start lower and gradually raise the Cost per Week each week as your site builds an advertiser following.
[top]
All of your customers will be able to view real-time statistics, and you will be able to view stats on all of your customers' ads. We break it down by day and number of clicks. As we charge a flat rate by the week, the number of clicks generated is the important number that advertisers care about.
[top]
Absolutely. Once you log in, you can specify your requirements and restrictions by scrolling to the My Account tab and selecting "Edit My Sites." On this page, you can choose which categories to restrict by checking each of the boxes. Ads in these categories will be blocked from your site.
These restrictions will appear on the page a customer visits when he/she goes to buy a Weekly Ad on your site.
[top]
Although ads start showing instantly by default, you will be sent an email each time an ad is purchased with links to either approve or deny the advertisement
[top]
If there is a situation where you have "unsold space," meaning there aren't enough paid advertisements to fill your ad box, Targeted CPC (RON) ads will appear.
[top]
A PhoText ad is a selected image or picture that is displayed with a headline of up to 25 characters of text including spaces and a description of 65 characters.
[top]
To enable PhoText ads on your site, log in and scroll to the "My Account" tab and locate the "Publisher" option. Next, select the "Get Ad Code" link. From here, you can customize an Ad Box with the dimensions and layout for your PhoText ads. Once you are satisfied with your settings, copy the HTML code found on the bottom of the page and paste it into your website.
[top]
Yes, PhoText ads tend to have a higher Click Through Ratio than plain text ads.
[top]
PhoText ads have all the same layouts made available for regular text ads. This includes horizontal, vertical, and skyscraper layouts.
[top]
PhoText ads are available in 3 set square dimensions: 50, 75, and 100 pixels in width. The size you select will be the set dimension for all PhoText ads in a single ad box.
[top]
PhoText ad pictures will only be displayed as JPEGs. We cannot display static or animated GIFs.
[top]
Each PhoText ad displays one picture.
[top]
Each Ad Box can hold up to 4 PhoText ads.
[top]
A PhoText ad, by definition, is precisely a combination of a standard text ad and a photo.
[top]
Publishers can either modify current text ad boxes to run PhoText ads or can create a separate ad box for PhoText ads. Currently, PhoText ads and text ads cannot be displayed in the same ad box.
[top]
Yes, although mixing PhoText ads and text ads in the same ad box is currently not possible, ad boxes for PhoText ads and ad boxes for text ads can be shown on the same page.
[top]
The pictures are selected by the advertiser and reviewed by Airliners.net staff for content and quality.
[top]
You cannot charge more for hosting both text and PhoText ads, but are welcome to adjust your overall pricing if you believe PhoText ads warrant a higher weekly price
[top]
No, the AdEngage servers will continue to quickly deliver your website regardless of whether or not your site hosts PhoText ads.
[top]
Yes, if for some reason a publisher does not want to display a particular PhoText ad, the publisher can reject and remove the ad. If this occurs, the advertiser is refunded and the ad is no longer shown.
[top]
Targeted CPC (RON) ads are run of network ads that are served only to online visitors within a specific geographic region and/or site category.
[top]
Targeted CPC (RON) ads only circulate to the region(s) and categories specified by the advertiser. For example, if the advertiser limits the Targeted CPC (RON) ad to only “Business and Finance” sites in the U.S. and Canada, the ad will only be seen by visitors from those regions on sites within that category.
[top]
Ad Rotations allow publishers to select a number of ads (up to 40) to place in an Ad Pool. Every few minutes, an ad from the Ad Pool is randomly selected and displayed on your site. Ad Rotations enable publishers to host multiple ads at a single period of time.
[top]
Ads are rotated on every page impression.
[top]
An Ad Pool is the collection of ads selected by a publisher for a given period of time. Ads are randomly displayed from the Ad Pool and rotated on every impression. An Ad Pool may contain up to 40 ads at a time.
[top]
Airliners.net allows a maximum of 40 ads in a single Ad Pool.

The Sales report shows ad sales based on the date the ad was purchased. This helps you see exactly when an ad was bought, even if it is scheduled to be displayed on a later date.
The Earnings report shows earnings based on when the ad was displayed on your site. The Earnings report reflects how much money you have made on a certain day. This is the report you should run to determine how much you can expect to get paid in your next payment, not the Ad Sales report.
Can you give me an example?
If someone purchases a 3-week ad on January 1st, and the cost of the ad $70 per week, the Sales report will reflect a $210 sale on January 1st.
The Earnings report will show how much you've made for each day the ad has been displayed on your site. So, if you are running an Earnings report for January 1 through January 7, you will see that you have earned $10 for each day that the ad has been displayed on your site ($70 per week divided by 7 days in a week) for a total of $70 in earnings for that week. The earnings for the second and third weeks in January will be reflected on the Earnings report in a similar manner.
[top]
This feature not only helps our publishers track when sales are made, and how their earnings are divided over time, but also helps ensure that our advertisers only pay for days his or her ad is actually shown.
[top]
Projected Future Earnings are the earnings that a publisher will receive from displaying Weekly Ads that have been sold but not yet displayed.
Projected Future Earnings do not include the value of the any Targeted CPC (RON) ads that may be displayed in the future.
[top]
To determine what you will be paid for last month run the Earnings Report and select "Last Month". The total is at the top of the page and this is the amount that will be paid on or around the 15th of the month.
[top]
To estimate how much you will earn in the present month run the Earnings Report and select "Month to Date". The report will show the earnings to date at the top of the page and at the bottom a summary of the weekly ads sold but not yet displayed by month.
The report does not estimate the Targeted CPC (RON) earnings for the rest of the month, but by looking at the historic data a forecast can be made.
An estimate of the month's earnings can be made by adding the "earnings to date," the estimate of weekly ad earnings for the "rest of the current month" and an estimate of the Targeted CPC (RON) for the rest of the month.

When submitting a new site, publishers are asked to select one of three options: Everyone, Teen or Adult.
How do I decide the rating for my website?
The definitions we have created are similar to those used by the video game industry and are as follows:
Everyone
Website content may be suitable for persons ages 6 and older. May contain minimal violence and some comic mischief or crude language.
Teen
Website content may be suitable for persons ages 13 and older. No nudity or explicit sexual content. May contain violent content, mild or strong language, and/or suggestive themes.
Adult
Website content suitable only for adults. May include graphic depictions of nudity, sex and/or violence. Not intended for persons under the age of 18.
[top]
For sites rated "Everyone," publishers can only accept ads rated "Everyone." For sites rated “Teen,” publishers can accept ads rated "Everyone" and "Teen." Finally, for sites rated "Adult," publishers can only accept “Adult” rated ads.
[top]
Ads are rated by three ratings: “Everyone," “Teen," and “Adult." “Everyone” ads are appropriate for all ages including children, “Teen” ads are appropriate for persons 13 and over, and “Adult” ads are only appropriate for adults 18 and over.
[top]
Yes, publishers have full control over the types of ads displayed on their sites. The publisher can exclude certain types of ads by checking the box for each category. For instance, if a publisher does not wish to include ads promoting gambling, pharmaceuticals, or sexual health, the publisher can simply click on the box for each category and exclude them from the site. Publishers can edit preferences at any time by logging in, selecting the "My Account" tab, scrolling to the "Publisher" box, and clicking the "Edit My Sites" link.
[top]
Yes, publishers can change the rating of their sites at any given time. However, all site rating changes must be reviewed and approved by AdEngage before going live.
[top]
Every website that is submitted to AdEngage is reviewed by the company and is only included in the directory if it passes certain quality criteria. We normally review every site within 48 hours of receiving the application and always contact the publisher with the result of our review process.
[top]
No, it will not show in the Site Directory. The only sites that appear in the Site Directory are those that are showing AdEngage ads.
[top]
By default, we rank blogs by the number of clicks that an average ad has received on that blog. However, it is very easy to reorder the Site Directory.
[top]
By clicking on the links titled "Cost/Week," "Avg. Clicks/Week/Ad," "Repurchase Rate," "Avg. CPC," or "Alexa Ranking" at the top of the column, the Site Directory is ordered by that particular metric.
[top]
Airliners.net awards stars for four criteria. The four criteria are (1) Average Clicks per Week per Ad, (2) Repurchase Rate, (3) Average Cost per Click (CPC) and (4) the Alexa Rank.
[top]
In general, we award the top few percent of sites with five stars; more sites have four stars and so on. A site is awarded no stars if it fails to meet certain basic criteria, e.g. if the site does not have an Alexa Rank.
[top]
Airliners.net offers an industry leading 75% payout rate to the publisher. For example, if the publisher earns $100, Airliners.net pays the publisher $75 and keeps $25 for site maintenance, customer support, and marketing on our website.
[top]
You will receive your payment on or around the 30th of the month.
If the 30th day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, you will be paid the next business day.
[top]
Yes, for any payment, your earnings must total to at least $20. If your earnings do not meet this minimum, they will carry over to your next month's total earnings.

AdEngage offers payments through AdEngage Account Credit, checks, PayPal, ePassporte, and wire transfer. The following is a guide that may help you decide which payment option is best for you:
AdEngage Account Credit
If you choose this option, your earnings will be deposited into your AdEngage Account Credit fund each month. You will be able to use these credits to purchase ads and drive traffic to your site(s). This payment method is optimal for publishers who advertise or are looking to advertise with AdEngage as well as publish. AdEngage Account Credit is also advantageous in that there is no delay or fee in issuing your payment. The minimum payment for AdEngage Account Credit is $20.00.
Check
If you have a US dollar bank account then a check is normally the best way to receive your payment. We mail the checks on or around the 15th day of the month and within the US they are normally received within 3 business days. Outside the US, checks may take as long as 4 weeks to be delivered. The fees associated with cashing a dollar check can be high if you do not have a US dollar bank account. In addition, the exchange rate offered by a check cashing company may be poor. AdEngage charges no fees for sending a check and the minimum payment is $20.00.
PayPal
PayPal is an easy way to quickly receive your earnings. PayPal offers accounts in US dollars, Canadian dollars, British pounds, Euros, Yen, and Australian dollars. AdEngage charges 2% per payment up to a maximum of $1.00 per payment. AdEngage sends the payment in US dollars and if the account is in another currency then an exchange rate cost may also exist. PayPal does not allow customers in certain countries to receive payments. The minimum payment for PayPal is $20.00.
ePassporte
ePassporte is a mechanism for electronic transfer of money to a prepaid Visa card. AdEngage is charged a $2.00 fee by ePassporte to transfer money to publishers. AdEngage passes on this $2.00 fee to the publisher. The minimum payment for an ePassporte payment is $100.00. For more information about ePassporte, click here to visit their website.
Wire transfers
Wire transfers can be made to bank accounts all over the world. AdEngage is charged $30 for wire transfers within the USA and $40 for wire transfers to all other countries. This charge is transferred onto the publisher. Publishers should also note that the receiving bank will often charge a fee and if the money needs to be converted to another currency, the exchange rate used may be below the market. For more information about the cost of receiving a wire transfer, contact your bank. The minimum payment for a wire transfer is $1000.00.

Publisher charts allow you to visually monitor your site’s earnings performance with a variety of visual options. Your statistics can be plotted as bar, area, line, or curved line charts, each with different color references for easy to read data. Publishers can monitor individual site performances and track these statistics grouped as days, weeks, or months over any date range.
[top]
A link to your charts can be found from a few different locations. In the top navigation bar there is a drop down under “My Account” for “Publisher.” Here you will find a submenu with “Charts and Graphs.” Alternatively, there is a basic chart shown on your summary page with a link underneath for “More Charts.” You can also find this link in your Quick Links section on the same page.
[top]
We allow you to track 6 different data sets at this time: Earnings, Effective CPM, Impressions, Clicks, CTR, and Effective CPC. Each of these metrics allows you to better understand the performance of your site over time.
[top]
Currently, you can chart one site at a time.
[top]
The type of chart you use is really a matter of personal preference. However, some charts are better suited to showing different data than other charts. For instance, line charts are great for displaying a site’s performance over time and visually convey a trend upward or downward while Bar charts are much more effective at comparing datasets side by side. We recommend that you play with the chart settings to find the right visual layout that works best for your needs.
